This was one of the most technically challenging pieces to construct at that time. While simple in form, made from a single sheet of stainless steel and formed using an anticlastic raising technique. The polishing process was extremely difficult as the hot rod flames and feet of the bowl became appendages for the polishing wheel to grab and rip from your hands. Even for the most skilled metalsmith it was a terrifying process.
