Donaueschinger Musiktage - Panel discussion - Topic: Live Music: Music for everyone?

Thu, October 15, 2026, 8pm
Mirror Hall

Musical outreach is more urgent than ever, especially given the decline of musical education in schools and the impact of growing social inequality. But what does up-to-date musical outreach look like today? What lessons have been learnt from the experiences of recent decades? And how sustainable are the educational programmes of cultural organizations? These questions will be discussed in Thema Musik Live by Anja Adam, Head of the Theater Public department at Theater Basel and a member of the theatre’s direction team, musicologist Tobias Bleek, who chaired the education department of the Klavier-Festival Ruhr for many years, and Axel Petri-Preis, who teaches as a professor of music education and community music in Vienna.
