Albi Maier - Black Forest Art

01.03. – 07.06.2015, in the 2-Raum

Albi Maier (*1952 in Lenzkirch, lives and works in Titisee-Neustadt) loves his native Black Forest. Black Forest houses with their characteristic long hipped roofs and the distinctive light and colours of the region are central to the artist's work. He seeks to articulate these themes in realistic pictures and abstract monochrome colour field paintings as well as in overpaintings and poured works. Concentration, reduction and stillness are key terms in the description of his atmospheric paintings.

From 1 March to 7 June Albi Maier's paintings can be seen in the Reading Room and the Technical Museum of Museum Biedermann. Complementing the main exhibitions in the gallery, the Reading Room and the Technical Museum present a varied programme of exhibitions devoted art and artists from the region.
