Martin Kasper - Paintings

16.03. – 29.06.2014, in the 2-Raum

From March to June 2014 visitors to the Reading Room can enjoy pictures of architectural spaces by Martin Kasper who took a closer look at the history of the Museum Biedermann. Born in 1962 in Schramberg, Martin Kasper studied at the Karlsruhe Academy. He is guest lecturer in Strasbourg and lives in Freiburg.

Stairways, light fixtures and empty interiors of special buildings seen from particular angles are central to his work. Painted in muted, softly blurred colours, his carefully composed, visually striking pictures tell the story of these buildings.

Kasper, who painted Museum Biedermann when it was still a cinema, allows visitors a glimpse of our recent history.
