Exhibition Opening Günter Wagner - Iron + Glass

Sun, June 14, 2026, 12pm
in the 2-Raum

The works by the Bruchsal-based sculptor Günter Wagner (b. 1955) are notable for their striking combination of contrasting materials: solid iron and transparent glass enter into a dialogue marked by the interplay between sturdy mass and apparent weightlessness, density and light.

In his sculptures and installations, many of which are quite large, Wagner invests clear, minimalist forms with a dynamic energy that allows the viewer to experience stillness and movement simultaneously and in equal measure. His works have a commanding presence and vary in effect depending on the viewer’s position and the angle of the light.

  • Introductory talk: Dr Martina Wehlte M.A.
  • Music: Ulyka Wagner plays the lute
