Nunzio Di Stefano, known as Nunzio, combines sculpture, material and space to create quietly powerful works. Wood plays a central role in his practice: it is sawn, burnt, layered or concentrated into dark, seemingly floating forms. The result is a body of work that oscillates between roughness and precision, heaviness and lightness. Nunzio’s sculptures are not closed forms, but open manifestations of presence in which light, shadow and material converge to animate one another.
